Chris Carter Named CEO of DG Foods
Hazlehurst, Miss. — DG Foods LLC has announced that Chris Carter is its new chief executive officer. Chris steps into the role following the retirement of Duffy McKenzie in July 2022.
Chris is a highly experienced executive with more than 30 years in the poultry industry. He most recently served as senior vice president of operations, quality and technical services at Foster Farms in Livingston, California. Prior to Foster Farms, Chris served in various roles including general manager, division vice president, and division senior vice president of operations for Pilgrim’s.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science, Business from the University of Alabama and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oregon.
The combination of his experience in driving business profitability with growth and building highly qualified cross-functional teams through employee training and development, makes Chris an ideal fit and positions the company to achieve the next phase of further growth in the poultry processing sector.

DG Foods LLC is a custom poultry processor, established in 2004 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi to provide co-packing services to large integrated poultry companies. As the demand grew, a second facility was started in Bastrop, Louisiana in the summer of 2011 for additional needs required by integrated poultry companies in the Southwest. DG Foods has since expanded into custom processing and portioning at both facilities with direct shipping capabilities across the United States.
